The Temple, with its view over the Suffolk countryside on one side and over the perfectly rectangular pond on the other, was originally built in the 18th century as a folly by the local squire. In the 1960s it was brought back to life (and saved from certain ruin) by David Hicks, one of the greats of English interior design.
