Charlotte and her husband wanted to live close to the city but also to enjoy the water. IJburg, a stone's throw from Amsterdam, fit the bill perfectly. The island is surrounded by water. The existing house that Charlotte and her husband bought felt as if it had been had designed for them. The wide open spaces, the quiet base of concrete and steel, the light -- everything was simply perfect.
