Fergus and his family live in a Victorian officer’s house in Woolwich, an area of London with long military associations. Built in 1870, the ground floor layout was designed for entertaining with a large billiard room (now sitting room) and dining room, a dramatic staircase and a small study and kitchen. The family has incorporated the old scullery into the enlarged kitchen but decided against wall cabinets to retain the period feel of the room. Fergus deals in ceramics from 1820 to 1840, specialising in ironstone. The house contains important pieces that never find their way to his shop in Portobello Road.
